ib+a architecture was established in San Francisco in 2000. We are an award-winning firm with services that encompass everything needed to get a project built. The initial focus of the firm's work has been in multi-family housing. As the firm grew, the project types expanded to include destination retail, senior communities, single-family residential and mixed-use urban projects all around California. The firm has also been commissioned to design affordable housing, schools, and custom residential interiors.
Each project is led by the Principal, who stays with the project from pre-design to post-occupancy. The firm is staffed with professionals who have seen their designs built, know the challenges of the design, entitlements and construction processes, and how to best help a client's project become a success. With each project, ib+a continues its passionate pursuit of innovative ideas, design excellence and exceptional service.

The entitlement process for any project can be arduous and testing. Our considerable experience and success in managing our clients' projects through this process continues to bring referrals to the firm. We make this process as easy for our clients as possible. Our preference is to work closely with local community groups and neighbors to ensure that our designs receive their support and pass through the entitlements process as quickly as possible.
