The concept for this single family home envisioned a pavilion of glass anchored to a box of program spaces nestled into the hill. Starting at the street face, a canvas for shadows cast by the Monterey Cypress dissolves into a wall of glass at the terrace with views of downtown San Francisco and the bay. Reflecting the clients interest in fine-crafted sailboats, the interior forms and finishes are expressed in rich woods and plaster.
